On this day 12 years ago, you blessed my life.
Right at time when I needed you to, you came in when I was lost, young, and insecure about who I was.
You changed me so much for the better.
Seeing you grow up over these last 12 years has been amazing and definitely a journey. I am loving how you are molding into your own little lady, with your own personality and viewpoint of life.
I wanted to publicly write you this letter, and hopefully one day you will look back on this later and it will resignate with you in one way or another.
You are perfect the way you are.
God made you who you are for a reason. I do not want you to ever doubt your worth or who you are FOR ANYONE or anything. Everything see on your self as a flaw is really what makes you perfect. Your uniqueness is exactly what the world needs and there is nothing wrong with being different than others.
Follow your dreams. Do what your heart desires.
If there is anything I would want you to learn from how I lead my life, is for you to follow your dreams, regardless of whatever circumstances life throw at you. Go after it. There is no such thing as fear. Do not be afraid to fly. Because you are very capable of doing it
There is no such thing as perfect, you will make mistakes, and that’s ok.
If there was anything I would have changed about my own life up to this point it would be this.
Regardless of whatever mistake you make, do not spend too much time being guilty about the mistake you made. Pick yourself up. Move on, and keep pushing.
I spent a whole lot of time beating myself up over the mistakes I have made. That will not get you anywhere. The key is to learn from them and to keep going. I’m not saying that I want you to make foolish mistakes, just don’t worry too much about them.
Love yourself un-apologetically.
It took me transitioning into my 30s to fully realize this, and that is a LONG TIME OF NOT TRULY LOVING MYSELF. it does not have to take you that long.
At the end of the day, you will see a lot of girls out here who do not love who they are. But that doesn’t mean you have to not like who you are.
Most time people will try to push their inability to love themselves on you. Ignore it. You have to love yourself. Completely. Wholeheartedly, and Passionately. Doing so will help you reach your highest potential with your life.
At the end of the day, I want you to know you are extremely special, and I love you more than anything in this world.
Happy Birthday My Love.
This was a different kind of blog for me, but I felt it was fitting since my baby is turning 12 today.
