I am not sure what exactly hit me in the head this past summer. But whatever it was, I am extremely glad it did.
Now here’s the thing, I am a very ambitious person by nature. I mean VERY AMBITIOUS. However, looking at myself in a raw and honest perspective, I also know I can be a good talker; you know, the one who will say “I’ll do x by y time” but then once I realize how much work it involves, I will let it become an afterthought or I will become too consumed with a new project to focus.
This past summer something in my spirit told me:
Be bold and be fearless.
It was the most unique urge I have ever felt in my life. Because
Not only did my spirit urge me to be bold, but my spirit is now at the point where it will not allow me to be complacent with my life.
To be fearless is definitely easier said than done, but I think that it really takes coming to the realization of a few things before we can actually pursue the life we want:
We have to stop caring about what other people think
If you think back to some of the great trailblazers of our time and beyond, what do you think would have happened if they listened to the people who didn’t believe they could do it?
It does not have to make sense to anyone but you. Period.
You do not have to justify your vision to your family, your friends, your coworkers or anyone else. They may not understand.
Realize that it is perfectly ok if they don’t understand.
Now that doesn’t mean that they are bad people cause they don’t understand , it’s just what makes us as human beings different and unique.
We also have to learn how to get out of our own thoughts and just go.
I wanted to start my blog well over 10 years ago, and again recently in the last 2-3 years. I had the idea for my how I wanted my website to look and the brand colors I wanted to go with in my mind for years now, but I also kept thinking myself out of taking the steps to do it.
What if they don’t like the blogs I write? What if they look at me like I’m crazy when I say that I am now a blogger on top of everything else I do? What if I fail at this?
Looking back on these thoughts now I realize that it has just been fear keeping me from taking the steps towards doing the things I had sitting on my vision board year after year.
Remember its always better to try than to not try at all.
Believe you are capable just like everyone else who is out here living their best lives.
I almost convinced myself that I didn’t need to start my blog or be passionate about my goals because there are enough people out here doing it and the field is over saturated.
How foolish is that?
It does not matter what field you are in , there is something special that you can bring to the table no one else is bringing.
In a nutshell, I hope to inspire someone to go after whatever it is that their heart desires, boldly and fearlessly, regardless of how silly you think it is. Your talents and gifts are exactly what the world needs. Trust me.
We are in the last quarter of 2018 can you believe it? This year has definitely went quickly. While it is nice to get a jumpstart on your 2019 goals it is not too late to still make the last 91 days of this year powerful.
What something you have been putting off that you would like to work on before the year is over?
As always, I would like to thank each and every one of you for stopping by and checking out my blog. I appreciate each and every one who has supported me this far.
