Who Do You Think You Are?

So, I am blogging now.

Well that’s kinda obvious; you are reading this.

I know that it seems kind of odd, random, and strange starting to blog now when there are bloggers who have been doing this well over 10 years.

Plus its 2018. Who really does blogging when we live in the era of vlogs.

Well…. I decided I do.

Heres why:

To start, the vlogging thing is intimidating to me; I’m not quite accustomed to making videos of myself yet.

Getting this blog going is a HUGE step for me.  I will have the courage one day to do videos. At least, I hope so.

I am desperately in need of a creative outlet.

Sometimes, as women it can be easy to fall into the trap of being “automated”:

Wake up. Take my daughter to school. Drive to work. Work. Pick daughter up. Workout. Go home. Shower.Dinner. Sleep.

Then do it all over again. 5 days straight.

That can make anyone feel like a robot.

I absolutely love writing.

I am a writer at heart. Always have been. Journaling, writing short stories, songs etc. I even went through a phase of writing poetry. I would have loved to have a career in Journalism, didn’t quite happen, so blogging is the next best thing.

I want to inspire women on a platform outside of social media.

Don’t take this the wrong way, Social media is amazing. We are able make an impression on many more people daily through it. But even as I’m creating content to build my blog, I can truly say there is nothing compared to the feeling you have of knowing you have your own platform to express yourself on. Nothing.

Honestly a lot of my social media posts are as long as blog posts anyways. Lol.

There you have it. Here we are together , you reading this, and I’m writing this. I definitely needed to do this, just to say I did it.

Who knows where this aspect of my journey is going to take me.

I’m not going to sit another 5 years wondering . Let’s find out.

I started blogging this year as well. It’s a great outlet for sure! I can’t bring myself to do any video blogging quite yet 🙂 good luck with that!

I love this so much! Congrats on the blog. I’m not a vlogger, but I do monthly Facebook Live videos for a client and for my Social Media company. Let me tell you, the only way to get used to it is just start doing it. No need to rush it, but when you’re ready, just dive in. I’m looking forward to keeping up with your site!

Girl, I felt the exact same way when I started my blog a couple of months ago. Vlogs are cool but I feel like my creative juices and personality come out more when I write, then I would if people would watch me. Great article thanks for sharing.

I’m definitely a new blogger. Seems like you were in my head when you wrote this lolbvs. My goal is to blog but only because I plan on doing panels of getting others thoughts. And I want to present THEM and their personalities to my readers/watchers to gain their own personal insight rather than me writing about them discussions all the time. But writing is my thing and I can do it creatively through my blog vs updating a social media stat.
